Theory of chimera quasiparticles

We will propose a new theory of chimera quasiparticles based on the conventional theory of single quasiparticles. The goals are threefold: to propose a construction method for chimera quasiparticles, to predict new properties of chimera quasiparticles, and to search for new possibilities of chimera quasiparticles. The seeds of new theories inspired by various problems and experiments will be studied in a flexible manner.

Chimera quasiparticles: Architecture

We will create reaction fields that promote quasiparticle reactions by means of artificial structures called metamaterials. We will develop techniques to control metamaterials throughout space-time and create chimera quasiparticles by reacting various quasiparticles in metamaterials, and explore their fundamental properties and potential applications.

Chimera quasiparticles: Physics

We will create new superstructures by combining magnetic materials, semiconductors, superconductors, and low-symmetry molecules, and construct a physical science of physical properties and functions based on the creation of chimera quasiparticles. As novel physical properties unique to chimera quasiparticles, we will create new principles for complex manipulation of heat, sound, magnetism, electricity, nuclear spin, and topology.

Chimera quasiparticles: Molecular science

We will create chimera quasiparticles by combining multiple quasiparticles in organic molecules and organic-inorganic hybrid compounds/interfaces, and explore their functional properties. We regard molecular compounds as flexible reaction fields with controllable symmetry that can combine different quasiparticles, and explore combinations of quasiparticles.

Chimera quasiparticles: Electronics

Based on our experience in quasiparticle devices, we will provide challenges for the creation of chimeric quasiparticles from the viewpoint of device applications. We will clarify the engineering applications of chimera quasiparticles, and form the basis for their spread to information processing and storage devices, communication devices, power generation devices, quantum devices, etc.
